Castell

This layout was built to showcase the adaptability of several of the SMS kits.

There is virtually no sky in the backscene, as I wanted the immense castle walls to provide the backdrop. The towers were made from pipe insulation foam, covered with different patterns of brick paper. The walls were treated the same way, to represent the differing styles of stonework used in the castle construction.

All the buildings are SMS kits, or scratch-built using lots of SMS building parts.

The layout can be operated with a fiddle yard at one end, or as a complete roundy-roundy.
