Design work

Ever since I was a young lad, I've loved drawing buildings. I learnt how to use vanishing points and used lots of straight lines to sketch ideas onto paper.  I even took Technical Drawing as an 'O' level, for which I achieved my only 'A' grade.

Working with Justin Noble at Scale Model Scenery introduced me to the world of  CAD software and laser cutting machines, and I've never looked back.

I love nothing more than designing a new model from scratch, working out how to construct the parts so they fit in a logical pattern, and how best to hide all the joints from the finished product.

I've added several successful products to the SMS range, in various scales, and I'm now doing a similar role for Steve Smith at Railway Laser Lines.

Scale Model Scenery products

These are a few of the kits I've designed, which are now available to purchase from SMS.

Railway Laser Lines products

These are part of the ever increasing number of products Steve is now including is his range of kits.

My designs

Sometimes I just want to design a kit for my own use, either for a layout or small diorama.

These are a few of those ideas.
